What Is Morpheus8?

Morpheus8 is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation treatment that combines microneedling with radiofrequency (RF) energy. This process involves making micropunctures in the skin using tiny needles, similar to the SkinPen® procedure, while delivering RF energy for additional tissue remodeling. As both the dermis and epidermis are treated, this signals the body’s natural healing response, stimulating the production of new collagen and elastin in these skin layers. Kevan Petterson, DNP, ARNP and his team offer the Morpheus8 treatment for those wanting to improve their skin tone and texture, while achieving a tightening effect for beautiful, youthful skin.

What Are the Benefits of Morpheus8?

Morpheus8 is an exciting skin care solution as it incorporates the benefits of both microneedling and RF treatments into one procedure. Some of the most notable advantages to choosing Morpheus8 for your skin concerns include:

  • Minimally invasive procedure
  • Considered safe for all skin tones, including those with dark skin
  • Can be performed on virtually any body area
  • Helps diminish wrinkles, mild sagging, scarring, age spots, and more

Who Is a Candidate for Morpheus8?

Candidates for Morpheus8 often suffer from mildly sagging skin in varying areas of the body, namely the neck and face (though the treatment can be performed on almost any area). Patients deemed eligible for Morpheus8 may also want to reduce the appearance of acne scars, fine lines, or wrinkles. Unlike certain laser treatments, candidates for Morpheus8 are not limited to those with light skin.

If you are suffering from more pronounced sagging, wrinkles, or fine lines, this treatment may be ideal for you. BOTOX® Cosmetic can be a wonderful add-on treatment for those with moderate to severe facial wrinkles to keep the lines from reforming. Our team will gladly advise you if you are unsure about which procedure is right for you.

What Does the Morpheus8 Treatment Involve?

To begin your Morpheus8 treatment session, your skin care professional will apply a numbing cream to the target area, ensuring your comfort throughout your appointment. Once this takes effect, the Morpheus8 handheld device will be slowly guided across your skin, allowing the microneedles to puncture your skin and the RF heat to be delivered. Every Morpheus8 treatment is customized to the specific needs of the patient, as the RF energy can be adjusted to reach different depths for optimal improvement.

A treatment with the Morpheus8 device takes about 60 minutes, but varies depending on the size of the area being treated. The whole procedure time, including numbing, takes about two and a half to three hours. You may feel moderate discomfort during the process, but our team will make sure any discomfort is minimized. After your procedure, you can expect redness, slight swelling, and possibly bruising for the first few days. You will be provided with post-treatment care instructions to help you heal properly and achieve the best possible results.

How Painful is Morpheus8?

Some patients experience moderate discomfort when the device is guided across the treatment area, but the numbing agent we apply should help to diminish any significant pain. Our providers can also inject additional lidocaine for those who need it.

What Can I Expect After My Morpheus8 Treatment?

Generally speaking, Morpheus8 does not require a lengthy recovery period. Patients are often able to return to work or other everyday activities directly after treatment. However, some patients may want to postpone social events for a few days, due to having some minor side effects like redness, swelling, or bruising in the treatment area.

Are There Any Side Effects to Morpheus8?

Side effects to Morpheus8 are usually fairly minimal. You may experience a certain degree of swelling, itchiness, redness, or scabbing, but these should gradually fade in the days following your procedure. If you are concerned about potential side effects, a member of our team can discuss any risks to which you may be susceptible.

How Long Does Morpheus8 Last?

Initial results from Morpheus8 can typically be seen within the first few weeks of treatment, with additional tightening in the next three months. One to three treatments are usually recommended, but this can vary depending on the type and severity of a patient’s skin concerns. Morpheus8 results tend to last for about a year, which is why our skin care professionals recommend yearly follow-up sessions to help maintain the rejuvenative effects of their treatment.

How Much Does Morpheus8 Cost?

The average cost of a Morpheus8 treatment series is approximately $3,000. However, every treatment plan differs and, therefore, so will the cost. Factors that may influence your Morpheus8 cost include the number of treatment sessions you need and the experience of your aesthetic professional. Our team will provide you with a cost quote for your treatment plan to help you budget accordingly.

What Are the Benefits of SylfirmX Treatment?

SylfirmX is a versatile treatment that can be used on virtually any part of the body. It offers patients a number of benefits, including:

At KMP Aesthetics, our skin care specialists work with each patient to determine an optimal approach. Your safety and comfort are our top priorities, and we are excited to help you feel confident and affirmed.

How Does SylfirmX Work?

SylfirmX is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation treatment that combines radiofrequency energy and microneedling to transmit thermal energy deep into your skin. Its microelectrodes create an electromagnetic field of energy that penetrates the dermal layer of the skin without damaging the tissue. Radiofrequency energy provides heat that stimulates collagen and elastin production, which has been found to lead to tighter younger looking skin, reducing the appearance of the signs of aging. The combination of state-of-the-art microneedling and exosome application optimizes the results.

What Are Exosomes?

Exosomes are responsible for cell-to-cell communication and for facilitating the exchange of RNA and other proteins. This is important because this communication is responsible for regenerating and rejuvenating skin cells. In addition, Exosomes contain stem cells, growth factors, enzymes, and vitamins, which help speed up the healing process after procedures. This allows for the expression of more youthful cells than the body could naturally produce with normal DNA aging.

How Many SylfirmX Treatments Do I Need?

Most patients need 3-4 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart to see optimal results. You will continue to see improvements for 6–12 months after the first treatment. Results can last for 12–18 months if you maintain a healthy lifestyle, incorporate a good skincare regimen, and avoid too much sun exposure. After the initial series, 1-2 treatments are recommended per year for maintenance.

What Is the Downtime With SylfirmX?

SylfirmX is truly a no downtime procedure. Patients may leave with slight inflammation and mild irritation. Skin may feel warm or appear red and a little blotchy right after the procedure, however, the next morning the skin will appear normal on areas like face and neck. Skin may appear lightly pink, if at all, or have remnants of microneedling markings from the treatment for a week on the torso or lower limbs in some patients. Our Seattle patients really appreciate the little to no downtime required to achieve their desired results.

Is SylfirmX Painful?

Most patients describe SylfirmX as comfortable with no pain, only a slight tingly sensation with light pressure and warmth. Based on the depth and area treated this feeling can vary. Pain is subjective, we all experience pain differently, however the consensus is that most patients find this treatment very tolerable. SylfirmX has eliminated the need for nerve blocks (compared to classic radiofrequency technology). We use specially formulated topical numbing cream as well as ample numbing time prior to this procedure to promote optimal comfort. Patients are comfortable and less anxious for their next treatment!
